  3. I just purchased the INTERNET CHAMELEON package from Netmanage, and I have
  4. a stand alone WfW3.11 PC at home.
  5.  
  6. I will only connect to the net via SLIP or PPP.
  7.  
  8. I was running an older version of the trumpet stack with now dated versions
  9. of quite a few winsock apps.( Under WIN 3.1, then I upgraded over)
  10.  
  11. Will I run into problems trying to install CHAMELEON over the old stack
  12. and apps or should I wipe my disk clean and install CHAMELEON, get that
  13. up and running and obtain the newest versions of these winsock apps?

  37. Hey in the help file it says Chameleon will do a CSLIP connection and get the 
  38. ip from a bootp.  It says select bootp under the setup menu under CUSTOM.EXE 
  39. but when I look at CUSTOM there is no bootp selection to be found.

  41. That's okay though, most of those applications will run under Tattam's 
  42. Winsock TCPMAN.EXE just fine.  Thanks Peter, you are a credit to the human 
  43. race.

  45. Still, I can't use 0.0.0.0 for an ip address, only uder PPP is this allowed, 
  46. still 0.0.0.0 on some software forces it to use boot packets.  Not Chameleon.  
  47. So I can't dial in without and ip number and I can't get an ip number without 
  48. dialing in.  I would mail to support@netmanage.com but I am sure that they are 
  49. overwhelmed with mail, just try their FTP site and see how loaded their system 
  50. is sometime.

  52. BTW, neat trick to getting Chameleon.  Waited until 5:00 am CST on a Sunday 
  53. morning and fired up 4 seprate FTP processes, one for each file.  Got the 
  54. package in about 3 hours.
